At St. Michael’s, we are blessed to be guided by the charism of Saint Mary MacKillop and the Josephite tradition. Inspired by her unwavering faith, deep compassion, and dedication to education, we strive to live by her motto: "Never see a need without doing something about it."
Our school embodies the Josephite values of hospitality, inclusion, simplicity, and a strong commitment to justice. We believe in providing a welcoming and holistic education where every student is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential—academically, spiritually, and personally.
Through a spirit of service and community, we nurture young minds and hearts to become people of courage, kindness, and integrity.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Our two Learning Assistants, Terisa Cordtz and Helen Totua, are currently planning our Samoan Week celebrations and would love to have some parent help, just like last year!
If you are available to assist during lunchtime (1:00pm - 1:50pm), please email the school office at secretary@smcs.school.nz.
We are looking forward to celebrating this exciting week together!
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are excited to remind families that BookHive for Under 5 begins tomorrow!
After morning drop-off, younger siblings and their parents or caregivers are warmly invited to join us in the library for a shared storytime and the chance to borrow two books to enjoy at home together.
This special fortnightly programme is all about nurturing a love of reading, building family connections through stories, and helping our youngest readers feel part of our library community.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our very first session!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
What an AMAZING SMCS parent community we have. Tēnā koutou!
A massive well done to all of our families and staff who donated 210 pairs of PJs in total. This incredible generosity is going to make a HUGE difference to children in need this winter.
🏆 House Points Results
A huge congratulations to the House that collected the most points: CLUNY House!
Thank you all so much for your wonderful support of the PJ Project!
Have a lovely weekend ahead.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
THANK YOU to every family and staff member of SMCS who has kindly donated PJs so far! Your generosity is helping to keep New Zealand children warm this winter. YOU are amazing!
Final Day: Tomorrow (Friday, 22 May) is our very last day for PJ drop-offs.
House Points: Remember, each pair donated earns 1 House Point for your child!
If you haven’t donated yet, there is still time! The best part is that the single pair of PJs you donate will make a world of difference to a child in need this winter.
Thank you for your incredible support!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The latest Newsletter has been uploaded to skool loop and our school website.
Have a lovely weekend ahead!
