At St. Michael’s, we are blessed to be guided by the charism of Saint Mary MacKillop and the Josephite tradition. Inspired by her unwavering faith, deep compassion, and dedication to education, we strive to live by her motto: "Never see a need without doing something about it."
Our school embodies the Josephite values of hospitality, inclusion, simplicity, and a strong commitment to justice. We believe in providing a welcoming and holistic education where every student is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential—academically, spiritually, and personally.
Through a spirit of service and community, we nurture young minds and hearts to become people of courage, kindness, and integrity.

Reporting and Ministry Requirements
The Ministry of Education has recently introduced new requirements regarding school reporting for all school. These changes move away from traditional curriculum levels to a more detailed year-by-year progression in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
St Michael’s now has a new report for Term 2.
To help our community understand these updates and how we will be tracking student progress moving forward, we invite you to the drop-in session.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how we are working to provide the best outcomes for our learners.
Today your child is bringing home a Feather template for you to complete as a family for our Mitey feather competition. Thank you to those who have already contributed to our school korowai - but we still require more to complete it! Please send the completed feathers back by Friday 24th April.

An action to achieve this is to ensure that Mitey is embedded throughout our school and as part of this it is important that all stakeholders in our school are involved - children, teachers and whanau.
So to start this off we want you to discuss at home the following statement -
